It’s easy to identify and draft the IDPs who had the high draft capital. What about those undrafted free agents? These are the guys who should have been drafted, but for whatever reason, either fell off draft boards or they came up short on draft grades.

As key as the pre-draft process of player evaluation, the post-draft evaluation can be just as important, to make sure some players don’t fall through the cracks.

I think these guys can play football and will, hopefully, get the chance to stick to roster. They do have an uphill battle, but they have a path to playing time if they develop and get the shot.

I also have a few Day 3 sleepers.

Donovan McMillon, S, Cleveland Browns

I really liked Donovan McMillon’s profile pre-Combine.

He’s an experienced safety prospect from Pittsburgh, having accumulated over 1,300 snaps across the past two seasons and 50 total games played.

A physical, hard-hitting defensive back, McMillon primarily operated near the line of scrimmage and in the box during his collegiate career. His versatility allows him to line up effectively in multiple positions around the line of scrimmage, including slot coverage assignments.

The Browns, for the most part, ignored the safety position during free agency and the draft. Grant Delpit has two more years and looks to enter free agency in 2027.

McMillon had two productive seasons with Pittsburgh, producing a 15.3% tackle rate (220 tackles), 8 defended passes, and two forced fumbles. If McMillon gets the Delpit role in Cleveland’s defense, there’s DB2 upside.

McMillon is a long-term taxi stash who could potentially pay off in the short-term.
