Week 6 2025: IDP Match-up Analysis
It's Week 6, and I'm here to provide the information and data to guide you to the best lineups in your IDP fantasy football league.
Week 6 is here and we’re already a third of the way through the season. Trends are starting to establish themselves and data is becoming more stable. We only have two bye weeks, so you will be without the IDPs from Houston and Minnesota.
Want my green dot article and IDP projections? Head over to The IDP Show.
As always, my goal with this article is straightforward: give you the context, nuggets, and matchup trends you need to feel confident setting your lineups.
I’m not going too deep on cornerbacks here, but if you’re looking for matchup-level analysis, The Cornerback Corner has you covered.
Enough with the dissertation, let’s get into the Week 6 matchups.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants
Andrew Thomas has yet to allow a pressure over 95 pass block snaps. Jalyx Hunt looks to be his o-line matchup. Keep Hunt on the bench/wavier wire.
I don’t mind Za’Darius Smith’s matchup over Jermaine Eluemunor. He has a 69.7 pass block grade, and allowed a multi-sack game in Week 4. However, Jaxson Dart has been responsible for 54% of his own pressure and 5 of his own sacks. Since joining the Eagles, Smith has a 19% win rate and 11% pressure rate.
Jalen Carter has a nice matchup over Greg Van Roten. GVR has a 63.1 pass block grade and 52.9 run block grade. The Giants line is allowing 9 tackles/gm and nearly a sack/gm to the IDL position.
Nakobe Dean has been listed as an FP in estimated practice reports. I don’t know how Dean’s usage is going to play out. It’s going to be one of those wait and see on Thursday night.
I might be tempering expectations on Jihaad Campbell if Dean plays.
Start Zack Baun as you normally would. The Giants are allowing 21 tackles/gm to the LB position. Baun is also contributing big plays (3.9% rate), as well on top of his 12.6% tackle rate. Baun has 31 pass rush snaps and has 9 pressures. It might be worth throwing out a bit of 7-11 Slushee money on a Baun sack.
Start Cooper DeJean. The Giants offense is allowing 14 tackles/gm to the CB position, and nearly an INT and 3 defended passes per game.
Abdul Carter now leads the Giants in pressures generated (22) and has a 19.4% win rate and 13.8% pressure rate on the year. He moves around the line, but the Eagles have a pair of solid tackles who have allowed just one sack this season. Jordan Mailata has allowed 3 QB hits and 10 total QBPs.
Dexter Lawrence had a lot to live up to after last season’s numbers. He’s playing well, but the IDP production hasn’t followed, as that hasn’t been his role so far.
After allowing 38 tackles to the LB position in the first two weeks, the Eagles have allowed 2 total tackles to LBs. I’m still starting Bobby Okereke, as he still should get most of the tackle share. Okereke has a 15% tackle rate over the last three weeks.
Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets
So, Nik Bonitto is matchup-proof. Just start him and don’t think twice.
Jonathon Cooper has a tougher matchup over Armand Membou. Membou hasn’t allowed a sack since Week 3, but has been responsible for 13 total QBPs (though just one QB hit). Cooper has been consistent with his metrics, producing a 25% win rate and 16.8% pressure rate. He’s in the conversation as a DL3.
Zach Allen leads the defense in QB hits (11). If your league is rewarding points for that stat, he’s been a top DT. For an IDL, he has solid metrics with an 11.8% win rate and 11.2% pressure rate. John Simpson has graded poorly at the guard position with a 53.3 pass block grade.
The Jets have allowed an average of 26.5 tackles/gm to the LB position over the last two weeks. Alex Singleton is an LB1 this week.
I’d still start Talanoa Hufanga and Brandon Jones this week. After recording 21 tackles in the first two games, Hufanga has 14 over the last 3. Singleton ha eaten into the tackle share. Jones has 6 tackles over the last two weeks, so he’s more of a DB3/4 with this matchup. Hufanga is the preferred option, as he has a 43% LOS rate.
I am not a fan of the Jets’ edge rushers and their o-line matchup. Especially Will McDonald over Garett Bolles. Bolles has a 92.7 pass block grade and has yet to allow a sack.
Quinnen Williams is in the DT2 conversation. The Broncos are allowing 13 tackles/gm to the IDL position. Luke Wattenberg hasn’t been a good run block guard with a 60.8 blocking grade.
In this matchup, I think I trust Jamien Sherwood as the only LB. The Broncos have allowed 41 tackles/gm to the LB position over the last two weeks. Sherwood has a 15.5% tackle rate over the last 4 weeks.
